Sahaja Yoga Meetings In Manhattan

About the Meetings

We introduce Sahaja Yoga through a series of topics presented over several weeks.
After a few weeks a beginner has a good grounding in Sahaja Yoga theory and practice. Newcomers are always welcome--previous weeks' notes and information are available for anyone who has missed a meeting.
Sahaja Yoga is an inner yoga. The process of becoming a more relaxed and balanced person requires no physical or mental effort. Some self-discipline is required at first to develop the habit of a daily 5 to 10 minute meditation at home.
We usually begin the evening with a guided meditation, where everyone in the room enjoys a peaceful state of silence and calm. The evening includes a video of a talk by Shri Mataji, the founder of Sahaja Yoga, and a brief lecture and explanation about one aspect of the meditation. Hands-on demonstrations allow beginners to quickly master the techniques of Sahaja Yoga.
Our main goal is that everyone experiences the peace and enjoyment of true meditation.

What to bring, what to wear

Wear comfortable clothing. Many people find it comfortable to remove their shoes when they are meditating. We sit on chairs. You can bring a folder to keep your weekly handouts in, if you like.
